About me
Kurt L. White is the Vice President of Community Partnerships, Communications, and Development at the Brattleboro Retreat, and is also the Retreat DEI Officer. He is the executive sponsor of the Brattleboro Retreat’s Psychology Training Program, which is accredited by the American Psychological Association. A clinical social worker by training, he is dually licensed as a social worker and drug and alcohol counselor. He is a Fellow of the American Group Psychotherapy Association and is a Master Addiction Counselor. Mr. White has worked in healthcare operations, communications, program development, administration, and executive leadership in hospital settings, and also continues clinical work with individuals, families, and groups in addition. As part of his work at the Brattleboro Retreat, he co-hosts the Unravelling podcast with journalist colleague Mary Wilson. Mr. White is an Adjunct Professor at Smith College School for Social Work with over 15 years of classroom teaching experience; he teaches on a variety of topics including foundational and advanced courses in group psychotherapy.
